Deere Introduces 120D, 135D Excavators
The 120D and 135D mid-sized hydraulic excavators from John Deere feature 93-hp Tier-3 diesel engines and the three-mode Powerwise III engine/hydraulic system that matches engine rpm to operating conditions. The E mode for light-duty work reduces fuel consumption, while the H/P (high-power) mode increases engine rpm for added horsepower in tough spots. Engine rpm automatically returns to normal once the resistance is overcome. Operating weight ranges from 28,498 (120D) to 32,747 pounds in the 135D. The 120D also has an arm breakout force of 12,823 pounds, while the 135D has a breakout force of 12,942. Both models feature an easy-to-enter, comfortable cab with ergonomically arranged controls. Operations can be monitored through a multifunction LCD screen. Other features include automatic climate control, AM/FM radio and deluxe-suspension, multi-position seat.
