Bobcat ExpandsCompact Tractor Line

Bobcat Co. has added four models (CT335, CT440, CT445 and CT450) to its line of compact tractors. Available in three different packages, a front-end loader is optional on each model. The Economy Package includes a three-point implement hitch with power take off. The Standard Package has the hitch, PTO, loader joystick and control valve. An enclosed cab also is available. Each tractor is powered by a Tier 4 diesel engine (38-50 hp) with hydrostatic transmission and three travel speeds. Weights range from 3,338 pounds (CT335) to 3,935 pounds (CT450). Lift capacity ranges from 2,474 to 2,625 pounds. www.bobcat.com.

Caterpillar Adds 3 Compact Track Loaders

Caterpillar has added models 279C, 289C and 299C to its line of rubber-track loaders. Powered by an inline, 4-cylinder C3.4T diesel engine, the loaders feature durable, steel embedded track and steel undercarriage components. The fully suspended undercarriage has four independent torsion axles. All models have two-speed drive systems with a maximum speed of 8.5 mph and electrohydraulic joystick control. Measuring 78 inches wide, operating weight ranges from 9,892 pounds (279C) to 10,730 (299C). www.cat.com.

Kenworth Makes Synthetic Axle Lube Standard

Kenworth has made Cognis EMGARD FE 75W-90 full synthetic axle lube standard on its Class 5-8 models. The lube is estimated to increase fuel savings by 1 percent, as well as increase gear life, extend drain and all-season lubrication and reduce maintenance and downtime. Cognis EMGARD SAE 50 synthetic transmission fluid also is standard on Class 5-8 models. www.kenworth.com.

RIDGID Designs Oil-Less Threading Machine

The RIDGID Model 1210 oil-less threading machine is designed for 1/2-inch to 1-inch diameter pipe. It combines Oil-Less Gold Dies and a specially formulated coolant to produce virtually dry threads for immediate, on-site installation. RIDGID hosted a three-day event to recognize individuals who contributed to its online forum. Activities included product discussions, competitions, plant tour and open discussion.

Bobcat Selects Road Tour Giveaway Winners

Brian Beaumont of Beaumont Landscaping, Flanders, N.J., and Roger Coyle of Diamondback Pool Excavation, Chandler, Ariz., received $50,000 Bobcat contractor product packages as winners of the Bobcat Great Road Tour Giveaway. They were selected as part of the Bobcat 50 Years Unleashed North American Road Tour traveling museum that visited 23 dealers in the U.S. and Canada.

Ziegler Announces Sales Promotions

Merlin Satrom, Dave Hartness and Jeff Drake have been promoted by Ziegler Cat, headquartered in Bloomington, Minn. Satrom will serve as general line sales manager for the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. He replaces Rick Albin, who transferred to Cat Auction Services as general manager. Satrom will be responsible for developing and managing all sales activities in the Twin Cities for Caterpillar heavy construction equipment.As general line sales manager, Hartness will be responsible for Ziegler's outstate Minnesota sales team. He replaces Dave Walter, who was promoted to vice president of Ziegler's ag division. Drake, promoted to sales manager for Ziegler's compact construction equipment division, replaces Satrom. Drake will be responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in Minnesota for Caterpillar compact construction equipment.

Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Names President

Shigeru Tanemura has been named president of Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Inc., Houston. He replaces Hideaki Ninomiya who has taken on a new assignment at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Japan.
