Vermeer Designs Bucket Wheel Attachment
The bucket wheel attachment from Vermeer is designed to work with the T655 Commander 3 tractor in the installation of small diameter pipe. The attachment can cut 22-, 24- or 28-inch wide trenches. To protect the bucket from damage, an independent metal band, designed to break away on impact, is bolted to the rim, which acts as a leading edge to remove dirt from the trench. Hannay Enhances N700 Reel
Hannay has added a separate non-sparking ratchet assembly unit to its N700 spring rewind hose reel. The new design provides better access to the pawl and pin, even in hard-to-reach machine applications. Newly designed seals in the heavy-duty spring motor and a redesigned arbor provide added protection in dirty environments and simplifies maintenance. The position of the hose riser also has been adjusted to improve alignment of the hose on the drum during retraction. The reel can accommodate single 3/8-inch or 1/2-inch I.D. hose and is designed to operate at up to 3,000 psi and temperatures from -20 degrees to 225 degrees F. Deere Rolls Out 190D, 220D Excavators
The 190D W and 220D W wheeled excavators from John Deere feature Tier 3, fuel-efficient 5.2L diesel engines, rated at 159 hp. The 190D W has an operating weight of 44,974 pounds with two-piece boom and front and rear outriggers, while the 220D W weighs 51,368 pounds. Stellar Announces Retirement, Promotions
Gary Bomstad, one of the three founders of Stellar Industries Inc., has announced his retirement. The company also has promoted Kevin Harmon to sales and product manager and Brian Goll to quality control manager. Bomstad, along with Francis Zrostlik and Jim Vlaanderen founded the Garner, Iowa, hydraulic truck-mounted equipment company in 1990. He has been instrumental in product development, manufacturing innovation, and marketing the X-Tra-Lift product line. Harmon has five years experience in the truck equipment industry and has been with the company since 2003. He will be responsible for planning, organizing and maintaining the X-Tra-Lift line from conception through production. Goll, currently research and development manager, will take on the added duties of quality control, chassis check-in, crane testing and final product inspection. He has been with the company since 2004.
